EF Academy:
Video Art Direction Pilot
University and Academic Counseling Video
This project served as the creative pilot for EF Academy’s new video direction—establishing a consistent visual style and storytelling approach for all future content. Through this piece, we defined the tone, color, and composition that would shape the look and feel of EF Academy videos moving forward.
University & Academic Counseling Video
I art directed this video to bring the EF Academy University & Academic Counseling experience to life. Together with my copywriting partner, we shaped the story, selected our interview subjects, and scouted key campus locations that captured the EF Academy environment. Acting as creative producer, I collaborated closely with the videographer and editor to craft each scene—from shot composition and lighting to pacing and narrative flow. Originally created as a longer feature for the University & Academic Counseling section of our website, the video was also shared on YouTube to reach prospective families globally.
Color grading
To establish a recognizable and cohesive visual identity, we developed a brand-aligned color grade inspired by saturated 90s film photography. The warmth and subtle grain bring a sense of authenticity and nostalgia, enhancing the emotional tone of each scene. This look became the standard for all EF Academy video content moving forward—adding depth, consistency, and a distinctly EF Academy feel to every piece.
Flipbook Intro
We created a new “flipbook-style” opening sequence to introduce EF Academy videos with energy and warmth. In just a few seconds, the sequence captures the essence of campus life—friends, academics, sports, and the school’s setting—giving viewers a quick, emotional snapshot of the EF Academy experience.
